FAQ
Questions we hear often
Do I need an exam if I see fine?
Yes. An exam checks eye health as well as vision, and some changes don't cause symptoms at first.
How often should I come in?
Many adults come every year or two. The doctor sets the schedule for you.
Do you work with my vision plan?
We work with many vision plans. Call us, and the front desk checks yours before the visit.
Why was part of my visit billed to medical insurance?
When the doctor looks into an eye problem or checks an eye condition, that work is medical. The routine part goes to your vision plan.
Can I fill my prescription somewhere else?
Yes. Your prescription is yours, and we give you a copy.
Can I have my contact lens prescription?
Yes. When your fitting is finished we give you a copy, and you can order from anyone.
What should I bring to my visit?
Your glasses and lenses, your vision plan and medical insurance cards, a photo ID and a list of the medicines you take.
How much will it cost?
It depends on your plan and the type of lens. The front desk tells you before the visit. How fees work explains what each part includes.
What do I do in an eye emergency?
If you have sudden vision loss, a curtain or shadow over your vision, a sudden shower of floaters, an eye injury or a chemical splash, call our office or go to the nearest emergency room now. In an emergency, call 911.
